Yung Calculator is a 14 year old gaming prodigy & Fortnite champion. His first big splash in Fortnite occurred in July of 2019 when he qualified for the Fortnite World Cup. He & teammate TSM MackWood would go on to earn a victory royale in game 3 of that event, putting them on the map in front of millions of viewers. Calc’s next big break in Fortnite occurred in September of 2019 when he & teammates TSM Zexrow & TSM MackWood took first place in the Fortnite Champion Series Season X event. Having become one of Fortnite’s hottest free agents, he signed with Vanguard two months later. More recently, Calc’s same team plus TSM Vincenzo secured 2nd at FNCS Season 11. These placements along with Calc’s witty, unfiltered, & provocative tweets have established him as one of Fortnite’s biggest young stars.
‘Jaomock’ is a professional fortnite player & streamer from Vancouver, Canada. As one of the very first players to take the risk of pursuing competitive Fortnite full time in 2017, Jaomock has been at the forefront of the scene since the beginning. Once famously described by NoahJ456 as “the best builder in all of Fortnite”, Jao’s career kicked off when he joined Impact Gaming, which was just the 2nd team to enter competitive Fortnite at the time. Jaomock’s brand & following continued to grow upon his high profile signing to FaZe Clan in 2018. Citing an amazing experience, he left FaZe & took a break from competitive Fortnite in 2019 for personal reasons. Following much reflection, Jaomock decided to return to competitive Fortnite, signing with Vanguard at the start of 2020. Jaomock kicked off February of this year with a solid 18th place at the Australian Open’s Fornite Summer Smash event out of nearly 100 pro players, showing he is still capable of competing at the highest level.
Colin ‘Colinies’ Landals is a 20 year old professional Super Smash Bros Ultimate player, streamer, & content creator. Known for his flashy style & creative combo game, Colinies plays both Young Link & Roy at a high level. Colinies has been ranked top 10 for the state of Ohio in Smash Ultimate for nearly 3 years, & currently holds the 8th spot on the Q4 2019 rankings. Also well known for being a resident of ‘The Loft’, Colinies lives & collaborates with other established smash creators & competitors such as Keitaro, Cosmos & Cilvanis. Recently, he earned 49th out of nearly 1700 entrants at Genesis 7, one of smash’s biggest annual events. Colinies’ rate of improvement & competitive drive bode well for the upcoming year.
Kalvin ‘Kez’ Dam is a 19 year old competitive Fornite champion from Toronto, Canada. Along with Phung & iKerry, Kez took a step into competitive Fortnite by earning a sponsorship from Game Arena, Vanguard’s predecessor, in April of 2019. After months of grinding for improvement, Kez’s team earned 5th place at FNCS Season X. Due to Kez’s relationship with the team, technical ability, & clear potential, he joined Vanguard alongside Calc, Phung, & iKerry in late November 2019. Just two weeks later, he & his team shocked the Fortnite world by taking 1st place at FNCS Season 2 Episode 1 over all of the best teams in one of Fortnite’s most competitive regions. Kez is eager to prove how much more he is capable of in 2020.
Vihn Phung has been an important force in the formation of Vanguard from the very beginning. Despite only having competed in Fortnite for less than two years, Phung quickly rose through the ranks, eventually earning the attention of Kez. The two would become a duo to be reckoned with, & Phung’s relationship with iKerry would lead to all three eventually becoming the first signed Vanguard players along with Yung Calculator. A natural leader & ruthlessly ambitious, Phung chooses to juggle being a professional gamer with his full-time day job in banking. This perfectly encapsulates the hustle & dedication that made Vanguard possible.
Originally a competitor in other titles such as Halo, Call of Duty, & Overwatch, iKerry transitioned to Fortnite years ago just as it was starting to become widely popular. Like Kez & Phung, Kerry has been with the Vanguard team since the very beginning, joining our predecessor Game Arena in early 2019. Kerry prides himself on having kept up with the everchanging metagame & competition over the last several years in one of Fortnite’s toughest regions. His vast experience as a player in various titles has helped him construct a winning mentality. Kerry hopes to continue to climb the ranks & qualify for the biggest yet-to-be-announced Fortnite events in 2020.
